What is BERT
Google is at it again and supposedly this algorithm update is a big one as it affects 1 in 10 searches, which at 5.6 billion searches a day is:
560,000,000 searches a day affected by BERT
In a nutshell this Google update, aptly called BERT, is making strides to better understand natural language in search. For example, if you search:
“Where do I go for a bagel maker”?
Google is hoping to deliver a result of stores where you can buy a bagel maker, not your nearest bagel shop, sorry bagel shops.
The types of queries are endless, and here is another article that details some: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-applies-new-bert-model-to-search-rankings-affecting-1-in-10-queries/332135/#close
What can you do with your content to help improve your rankings after BERT?
The answer seems clear and tends to go with every other update.
